Wireless
smart metering provides the ideal solution for locations where
the installation of data cables is difficult and costly. In
fact, wireless meters can be located anywhere they are required.
The smart meters, which use built in mobile phone technology,
send readings via the phone company's servers which are then read
using any authorised computer connected to the internet. Simple
spreadsheet and graphical displays show historical readings and
energy use trends. Data from any meter can be easily selected for
analysis.
Tarrifs are assigned to meter groups and invoices can be automatically
generated, simplifying recharging for energy use. Dual tariff
rates, standing charges and VAT can be included in the invoice.
